Sadashiva Brahmendra Part - 1 ....
In this Kaliyuga, many Gnaanis might have appeared without our knowledge. But as far as I know there are only three who have reached the final stage of spiritual bliss [Gnaanam] viz, Abiram, Manikavachagar and Sadasiva Brahmam. The ancestors of Sadasivan lived in Madurai. His father, Soma Sundara Avadani, who was working towards proficiency in vedic scriptures reached Thiruvisainallur to improve his knowledge in philosophical enquiry as the place brimmed with teachers of repute in the subject.
According to the customs of Brahmins Sadasivan was invested with the sacred thread [Poonal] when he was five. As soon as he completed his studies of Vedas and scriptures, his parents got him married. Within a few years his wife attained puberty. The girl's parents called on Avadani to covey this news. Avadani arranged a feast for them. Sadasivan became hungry when his food got delayed and he asked his mother Parvathi Ammal, "Why so much time? I am hungry!". His mother responded in jest, "Sadasiva, your wife is going to come to our home. It is for that this feast is being organised".
"If there is so much delay when the wife is about to come, what will happen ater she comes", said Sadasivan to his mother coolly before falling into deep contemplation. The mind of Sadasivan which was inclined naturally to discrimination and sublimation, shrunk from worldly life. Like Pattinathar, the Vedanthi quit his home without telling anyone. For a few years his whereabouts were unknown. He took Sanyasa from a great saint [a ripe Sanyasi]. For some time he was engaged in wandering before reaching Thiruvenkadu near Sirkazhi. After having Darshan of Swetharanya who was the presiding deity and Aghora Moorthy who was the special deity of the kshetra, he desired to see Paramasivendral who was a Yathi [Sanyasi].
He already had information that there was a Mahan by name Paramasivendral living there. [Parama Sivendra Saraswathi was one of the descendants of Kanchee Kamakoti Peetam 1539-1586] When he saw Paramasivendra Swamigal, he had a strong desire to adopt him as his spiritual guru. When the Vedanthi expressed his desire to Paramasivendral, he neither accepted it nor rejected it since he had no desire of anyone elevating him to the status of a Guru.
Sadasivan who was an adept in scriptures shone beyond compare in them after coming to his Guru. In this Kali, Sadasiva Bramham and Sri Shankara can be described as the "mounts of sublime arts". Important works authored by him such as 'Bramhasuthra Vrithi', 'Yogasuthra Vrithi', 'Siddhantha Kalpavalli' etc are incomparably great. He was both farsighted and hind sighted.
